Playful improv explores presence, creativity, and connection. Join a 2-hour workshop, a 6-week series, or both. No experience necessary.
About this Event

Play is not something we grow out of, it’s something many of us forget how to return to.

Join improvisational actor and experiential educator Kerstin Caldwell for playful, experiential workshops that reconnect us with presence, creativity, and authentic expression.

Improvisation isn’t about being funny.
It’s about listening, responding, and being fully here.

Through theater games and simple childhood play, we rediscover something many of us have lost: the ability to move through the world with curiosity instead of fear.

You are welcome to attend the two-hour workshop, the six-week series, or both.

No acting experience required. All experience levels welcome.

The introductory workshop and the six-week series are designed to complement each other. Participants are welcome to attend either event or both.

Intro Workshop
Let’s Play! – Intro Improv Workshop

Sunday, March 15 | 12:00–2:00 PM

This two-hour workshop is a playful introduction to improvisation and embodied presence. Through simple theater games and group exercises, we’ll explore how play can reconnect us with joy, creativity, and authentic expression.

Play is a state of being many of us have grown out of. Let's change that by gathering to play a series of games that awaken our inner children in a safe, inclusive environment. We'll explore how playfully allowing the rules of a "silly game" creates connection to one's self, each other, and the present moment all for the simple sake of enjoying being in joy.

This gathering is designed to be welcoming, low-pressure, and accessible to anyone curious about improvisation. Participants often leave feeling more relaxed, more open, and more connected to themselves and others.

You can attend this workshop on its own or combine it with the six-week series that begins in April.

6-Week Series
The Practice of Playful Presence

Mondays | April 6 – May 11 | 6:30–8:30 PM

In a world full of noise and distraction, there is a space to come to remember the fully embodied joy and wonder you felt as a child. This six-week journey explores how improvisation and play can transform the way we relate to ourselves and each other.

Using theater games, movement, and guided exercises, participants will explore how play rewires the nervous system away from fear-based patterns and toward curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Across the series we’ll practice:

• building awareness of nervous system responses
• transforming mistakes into creative possibility
• deepening trust and authentic expression
• reconnecting with curiosity, joy, and spontaneity

Each week builds on the previous one, creating a supportive space for exploration and growth.

No prior improv experience is necessary.
