This session will demonstrate the use of play therapy with older teens and adults suffering from complex trauma. Integrative Play Therapy (IPT) is an effective approach in helping individuals suffering from complex trauma in the form of emotional regulation, self-acceptance, and self-repair.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
1. describe how Integrative Play Therapy is useful when working with complex trauma.
2. identify play therapy techniques specifically used for complex trauma.
3. apply Integrative Play Therapy techniques specifically for emotional regulation, self-acceptance, and self-repair.

FAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 02-115. FAPT maintains responsibility for the program. FAPT is approved by the Florida Department of Health under FL Statute 491 to offer continuing education for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than January 15, 2025. Cancellations are subject to a $15 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested.
About our presenter: Kevin B. Hull, PhD, LMHC, CGP, Registered Play Therapistâ„¢ - owns and operates Hull and Associates, P.A. a private practice in Lakeland, Florida. Dr. Hull is an RPTâ„¢ and licensed counselor who has worked with children and adolescents and their families on the Autism spectrum since 2001. Dr. Hull has been a professor for 20 years and is currently associate faculty with Liberty University. Dr. Hull specializes in using electronic devices in play therapy. He is currently conducting a year long study through the Florida DOC utilizing play therapy in the Pr*son setting for complex trauma. Dr. Hull plays weekly through open water swimming and spending time with his wife Wendy and their four children.
