Welcome Message
Dear Dancero applicants,
We are so excited you have decided to take this opportunity to experience and participate in the H.B. Plant High School Danceros tryout process. The Danceros are a crucial part of promoting school spirit at Plant High School. It is our goal to provide an atmosphere where dancers can foster not only their dance ability, but also other life skills such as responsibility, leadership, and self-discipline. The Danceros are a talented group of dancers who are also leaders on campus. It is our expectation that all future Danceros continue to exude this excellence in all they do, both on and off campus. Hopefully, tryouts will be a positive and energizing experience for you. It is a great way to demonstrate your talents, learn new things, and meet other students on campus with similar interests. As the coaches of the Danceros, we expect 100% dedication, commitment, poise, responsibility, and a lot of sweat during the tryout process and continuing into the season. We wish you the best of luck!
Paws Up!

Financial Overview (Estimated)
The Danceros are a 100% family/team-funded group. We are not considered a district sport and therefore do not have county or school funding. Based on revisions made to the current team budget, we estimate the following out-of-pocket dues/expenses for the year. This could increase depending on team needs. Assessments cover things like uniforms, apparel, camps & other team needs. Therefore new member fees are higher because returning dancers already have some items that will be re-used. We understand Danceros can be an expensive financial obligation. We participate in 2 fall fundraisers and one Winter/Spring fundraiser to help offset costs. Profits are split evenly with the dancers that participate. If there are any circumstances where financial obligations cannot be met, please reach out to our sponsor as well as our Finance Chair, immediately.
You have 2 options for the dues/financial obligation: (see graphic below)
- Pay in full upfront
- Pay in installments over 3 Assessments
Additional Required Sponsorships
- Each dancer must also secure $400 in sponsorships. This is over and above the standard dues.
- Due by 7/25/26
- Can be either raised through donations from local businesses and families, or paid out of pocket if not secured
- Any amount over $400 is credited to the dancer’s account
- Early season sponsors will be included on the football banner and in the football program.
Other Financial Obligations:
Throughout the season, dancers and their families may be required to contribute items for various activities/parties. These items may include, but are not limited to, cases of water, food, costume enhancements, etc. The total approximate cost is $100 for functions not covered by the General Team Fund or various assessments. It will also be the responsibility of each Dancero to individually purchase the required tights and jazz shoe (possibly black and tan), and other items deemed necessary for participation in various dances and activities.
2026-2027 Parent Volunteer Obligations
Danceros is primarily run by the coaching staff, however a large part of our success can be attributed to the families and parents of each dancer. There are numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and it is expected that parents assist with team activities to maintain our standard of excellence.
Mandatory parent volunteer obligations include:
- Committee Sign Up – May 2026
- Jr. Dancero Performance Camp – Fall 2026
- Middle School Dancero Camp-Fall 2026
- Football Dinners – Fall 2026
- Football Game Chaperones – Fall 2026

Additional volunteer opportunities will be discussed throughout the season.
