It takes a community to build a celebration! As we prepare for a milestone year—30 years of Pride in Nanaimo and 10 years of our festival—we’re looking for passionate folks to join our volunteer crew.
𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬: This is your chance to show your support and get involved behind the scenes. Whether you’re a logistics pro, a social butterfly, or just have a pair of helping hands, we have a position for everyone. From event set up to festival support, there is a way for you to contribute to the magic of Pride Week.

✨Fuel Up: Enjoy pizza courtesy of Panago.
✨Get Comfy: Bring a chair or a blanket to settle in on the grass.
✨Stay & Groove: Stick around after the info session for a high-energy Flow and Dance Jam with Rachael Dechene Photography.

Mobility: The park is wheelchair accessible, with paved paths and no hills.
Seating: Limited seating available; attendees may bring personal seating.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms.
Parking and Transit: General parking at Maffeo Sutton Park. Bus routes 1, 20(A), 25, 30 and 72 will bring you closest to the park. Find more transit info here.
Safe Space Commitment: This event upholds Nanaimo Pride's Safe Space Directive, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees.
Sensory Notes: Music and speaking via mic and speaker system. Lots of space to spread out. Outdoor setting - no tents. Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
