About this Event
Pitch Yourself: A Fundamentals of Pitching Your Film Workshop
Learn the fundamentals of pitching from understanding your audience, crafting your story, and selling your film. From shorts to features, this workshop will help you understand the key components of a good pitch and then put your work into practice. Come with an idea or come simply to learn the art of pitching.
This workshop has been honed over 10 years and across industries, specially developed to help black communities share their stories without playing into trauma narratives and stereotypical tropes. You will develop your own unique pitching style with film industry specific tips.
This workshop is queer and neurodivergent friendly.
The workshop will be two hours and then followed by Networking Drinks & Canapes.
Glasgow Film Festival's Black Filmmakers Community Network
The Black Filmmakers Community Network (BFCN) is a quarterly event series dedicated to supporting Black filmmakers across Scotland. Programmed and delivered by Briana Pegado, Balenji Mwiche and Liz Chege, the network has been created following a period of consultation with Black filmmakers working in Scotland to help this community grow their creative careers, whilst also driving meaningful change across the sector.
By fostering open dialogue through feedback sessions, roundtables, and direct engagement with industry leaders, the programme will play a key role in advancing diversity and inclusion within the Scottish screen industries. The network will provide a programme of free events that feature decision-makers, industry leaders, and offer professional development workshops.
BCFN is made possible thanks to a generous legacy gift from one of our valued Glasgow Film customers. This donation means that we can invest in a number of co-produced initiatives over the next few years that will champion underrepresented voices in film and screen.
Leaving a gift in your will can help us continue our mission to provide Cinema For All. To learn more about how you can support our work, please visit www.glasgowfilm.org/support-us or email [email protected] for more information.
