Beerthoven is teaming up with the Austin Chapter of the American Guild of Organists for an organ concert like no other, featuring a rare and magnificent digital organ brought in for one night only at Saengerrunde Hall! We're going for baroque with works from the 17th and 18th centuries, featuring organist Chris Oelkers as well as baroque trumpeter Adam Gordon.
Thanks to our sponsors, we will be serving free warm pastries and cold beer generously provided by Easy Tiger and Lazarus Brewing as well as wine and non-alcoholic beverages--all at no additional cost!
Relax and be yourself while listening to world-class music at the historic Saengerrunde Hall Downtown; home of Austin's largest Oktoberfest as well as the Beerthoven Concert Series.
Kids are welcome! Tickets for children as well as students through college age are available for $10. Purchase at the door or email [email protected] for advance student tickets.Buy in advance and save! Tickets at the door are $30.
Parking Info:
Look for parking in the state garages immediately surrounding the Saengerrunde Hall facilities. Parking is also typically free or low-cost at the Texas Capitol Visitors Center, three blocks south of the Saengerrunde on San Jacinto. Alternatively, the Bullock Museum parking garage is typically available.
During most of our events the state garages are open and free of charge (after 6 pm weekdays or all day Sunday). Sometimes there is a parking attendant charging $20-$30, especially when concurrent events take place in the Moody Center.
We cannot guarantee their availability so we would recommend coming early in case you need to use the Capitol Visitors Center garage or find on-street parking. There is a charge for on-street parking.
About Beerthoven:
The critically-acclaimed Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song, chamber music, and beer; a quirky mixture of Bach and Doppelbock in unique and intimate settings. Beerthoven finds its inspiration in the musical and festive events of the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private "salon" concerts of Beethoven's time. Beerthoven events feature live classical music, free beer, and other refreshments and snacks in an all-inclusive manner. There is no backstage here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers.
Programming is intentionally diverse in tone, instrumentation, and featured performers. Beerthoven supports local artists by offering fair compensation and unique performance venues. Audience members will find our prices at the very low end of typical classical concerts--especially for students and especially given the high quality of the exbeerience.
