About this Event
Pilgrimage of Sound is a classical piano concert inspired by movement—of people and of music.
Alongside my work as a pianist, I practice Ashtanga yoga, and over time I began to recognise structural similarities between the two. In both, there are forms that must be followed, yet within them nothing is static; movement remains alive.
The program draws inspiration from the Jogī—wandering musical communities in India, originally spiritual travelers whose journeys and music later became connected to Romani traditions. Jogi is said to mean Yogī (yoga practitioner) in Sanskrit, hinting at the close relationship between yoga and music. During my travels in Rajasthan, India, I encountered Jogī musicians firsthand at their village, inspiring my fascination with how music travels with people and adapts across cultures.
Featuring works by Bartók, Ravel, Liszt, and Wagner, this concert invites listeners to experience sound as a living pilgrimage—where music moves with people and remains alive through movement.
