About this Event
This Jubilee Year Jesuit schools around the UK will be participating in a Pilgrimage of Hope. The purpose of this collaborative effort with the Jesuit Institute is to raise funds in support of Jesuit Missions’ projects around the world.
To express our solidarity with the schools the Jesuit Missions’ team is holding a solidarity walk in collaboration with Sacred Heart Parish, Wimbledon. This is an opportunity to pray for the success of the fundraising efforts of the Jesuit schools and for our partners around the world who provide a vast range of support for some of the worlds’ most marginalised people. Below you will find a schedule for the walk which will take place on Wednesday 26th February 2025:
10.30 JM team leaves Sacred Heart Church, Edge Hill for Wimbledon Common *
10.50 Participants meet at end of Wrights Alley, that is, the alley that leads off the Ridgeway up to the Common *
11.00 Participants walk around the Common in solidarity with the schools who are doing the Pilgrimage of hope in aid of Jesuit Missions
Return to Sacred Heart Church
12.00 Mass and Confessions
Light refreshments will be served after Mass in the parish hall
*Participants can join the walk either at Sacred Heart Church, or at the designated location on Wimbledon Common. Please be prompt.
Sacred Heart Church is a Jubilee church in the diocese of Southwark. Those participating in the walk and attending Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will receive a plenary indulgence.
