This immersive Open Mat Workshop is designed for Pilates teachers who want to develop their cueing, teach with greater detail, confidence and strengthen the professional integrity of their classes (contemporary and classical) through a deeper understanding of classical mat Pilates.
By referencing the underlying principles of the classical repertoire in a contemporary class , teachers learn how to anchor contemporary mat classes in a clear framework, creating sessions that feel structured, intentional and expertly taught, rather than improvised or purely exercise-led.
A strong classical foundation supports better decision making in class, clearer progressions, and more confident cueing, allowing teachers to adapt creatively while maintaining consistency and depth.
Cueing is more than instruction. It is how we guide awareness, create embodiment, and translate Pilates principles into felt experience. This workshop explores how precise, informed cueing, based in classical knowledge elevates the quality of a mat class, helping students understand not just what they are doing, but why.
The result is a more coherent, professional teaching approach that builds confidence for the teacher and a richer, more connected experience for the student.
