Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 27. We are throwing a Pickle Party. Well really, a Giardiniera Party! This community is full of giardiniera lovers, so we’re giving you what you want - a day full of giardiniera delights.
Giardiniera is the ultimate condiment of the Windy City. What started as an Italian method of vinegar-pickling vegetables for preservation into the winter months, became a Chicago condiment staple when over four million Italian and Sicilian immigrants arrived in Chicago by the 1920s. We love it so much, that it’s estimated Chicago eats 15 million pounds of giardiniera every single year.
So we are gathering some of our favorite local giardiniera and pickle making friends to celebrate COE and all of giardiniera’s spicy, pickley goodness. Enjoy a menu of delicious bites from Tripping Billy, taste all of the Giardonnaise flavors, and stock up on Pickled Prince’s hot sauces and provisions.
