Pi Day at The Hop & PopIrrational Ice Cream Flights & Bubble Teas + Marvelous Math Club Fundraiser
Saturday, March 14 | 640 Merrimon Ave
On Pi Day (3.14), weβre celebrating the beauty of the irrational β the unpredictable, the unsimplifiable, the wonderfully chaotic.
π¦ Irrational Ice Cream Flights
A four-scoop journey determined entirely by chance.
Using a random number generator, weβll map numbers to flavors and let mathematics do the scooping.
No substitutions.
No simplifying assumptions.
Just delicious uncertainty.
π§ Irrational Bubble Teas
Pop Bubble Tea is joining the fun with drinks built the exact same way β assigning numbers to flavors and toppings, selecting at random, and constructing your beverage in real time.
Much like Ο itself, these seemingly chaotic creations make perfect sense when you stop trying to control them.
π Supporting Marvelous Math Club
This year, Pi Day is also a fundraiser.
10% of all sales at The Hop & Pop Bubble Tea (640 Merrimon Ave) will benefit Marvelous Math Club.
Marvelous Math Club is an after-school program at Pisgah View Community Center that uses a unique model integrating math and psychology. The program centers the lived experiences of students, parents, and guardians, and celebrates its elementary-age participants as Math Leaders β building confidence, curiosity, and community through mathematics.

Keep the Pi celebration going!
In honor of Pi Day, UNC Asheville is hosting a community 3.14-mile fun run starting at exactly 3:14pm.
Run. Walk. Skip. Trot.
Just cover 3.14 miles and celebrate the magic of circles.
Registration:
$10 for students
$31.41 for all other participants
There will be delicious Pi(e) at the finish line. π
Proceeds benefit the Asheville Initiative for Math at UNC Asheville, including Marvelous Math Club β supporting programs that use math as a catalyst to build leadership skills, create community, and provide spaces where elementary school students can grow academically and socially.
Come celebrate:
β’ Non-repeating sequences
β’ Chaotic decision-making
β’ The joy of letting go
β’ Circles, constants, and community
β’ And treats that refuse to converge
Because sometimes the most beautiful things in life are irrational.
And sometimes they come with tapioca pearls. π§π¦π₯§
