Description:
In this tactile workshop, you will work hands-on with pinhole photography, embracing a method that is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. Pinhole photography encourages slowing down, observing the world around you, and appreciating the simplicity of capturing light. This fascinating process takes us back to the very roots of photography, focusing on composition, exposure, and the interplay of light and shadow.
Pinhole photography offers a distinct look and feel that sets it apart from conventional photography. By using a simple, pinhole camera, you will create images with a unique perspective and aesthetic. The resulting photographs often have a soft, ethereal quality with a mysterious, dreamlike, and timeless aesthetic.
Working directly with the fundamental elements of photography fosters a deep connection to the creative process, resulting in images that feel personal and intimate. Workshop structure:
Studio Nihilities workshops are well-structured in small groups with the best values for you in mind. The workshops are fun and rewarding, you will experience both theoretical and practical processes. In this tactile workshop, you will experience a photo walk where you will be working hands-on with a large-format pinhole camera capturing photographs directly onto photographic paper.
Instructor:
Your workshop will be delivered by Lowe H Seger who has devoted his life to photography and has taught and mentored on all different levels for many years. Since 2019, Seger has been working as an Associate Lecturer for BA (Hons) Fashion Photography at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London where he regularly delivers lectures, workshops, tutorials and seminars.
Seger has a track record of solo exhibitions in the United Kingdom and Sweden, where he showcased his work. In 2022 he released his first photographic book, an investigation of the Japanese mindset. The book "Not Seeing Is A Flower" sold out within a month of its release date.
