Photo Book Club

On July 2nd, we'll gather at Bildband Berlin for a lovely evening of discussion about photobooks.

Event theme: We will have 2 topics of discussion for the first photo book club.

1. Firsts. What are some of the first photobooks you remember and why? What books have had a lasting impact and what made them memorable? Are the types of books you’re interested in now similar or different to the first ones you started looking at? How has your interest in books widened or changed over time? If you have the book in your possession, please feel to bring and share with the group.
2. We will discuss photobooks that center around the theme of exploration. Please feel free to interpret this topic as you wish and feel free to bring examples of books you enjoy around this topic(either names of books or physical books you have).

Please take note of our event rules:

1. This is an event where participation is encouraged. It is not intended as a lecture series so please be aware that you might be asked to share your opinions and participate in discussion.
2. This is not an event for self promotion. We want it to be a safe space for artists, creators and photo book enthusiasts to have their voices heard. It is not a space for artists to pitch their own work. Of course, we realize that anecdotal discussion can be done in a respectful way but please do not use this space to share or intentionally promote your own books/art during our discussions.
3. Networking is of course encouraged but please keep it to after the discussion.
