About this Event
Join Philadelphia Legacies at the 9th annual Portrait Awards to honor Philadelphia's legendary changemakers and leaders in order to inspire the changemakers of the future to improve our great city.
Start the night off with a cocktail while mingling and networking with community figures from fields including government, community activism, non-profit, philanthropy, education, culture, and more.
Then settle in with a delicious dinner and participate in our marquee ceremony honoring our Portrait Award and Community Award winners. Be inspired by their legacy and learn about how our winners have and continue to shap our city for the better.
This year we will be presenting a Portrait Award to six honorees:
- Cecil B. Moore: civil rights activist, Pennsylvania NCAAP president, and City Councilmember
- Leon Sullivan: Minister, Civil Rights Leader, Humanitarian, Corporate Leader
- Wali Jones: 76ers guard and community activist
- Bernard Watson: CEO of the William Penn Foundation, Board Chairman of Avenue of the Arts, Vice President of Temple University
- Sam Evans: Civil Rights Leader, community activist, Powerbroker
- Phil Martelli: St. Joseph's University basketball coach
And we will additionally honor four contemporary community activists with Community Awards:
- Regina Jennings
- Natasha Harris Foster
- Todd McCoy
- OHAAT Beds and Kids
