WHO WE AREPhiladelphia Animation Society has been screening Japanese anime and related programming since September 1982. Our monthly event is one of the few remaining venues for watching and discussing anime and enjoying related activities in a social setting. We feature a full program mix of classic and current anime, tokusatsu, live action and 3D series, features, films, shorts and specials, and not always just from Japan. We also have one or two vendors and light refreshments and you are welcome to bring your own food.
Join us every second Saturday evening of every month. Things get started at 5pm. All ages welcome. (Under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.)
ADMISSION IS $5 FOR GUESTS, AT THE DOOR.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL DETAILS
We're in the Parish Room at the First Unitarian Church at 22nd and Chestnut Sts. (2125 Chestnut St) in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia. Entrance is at the side of the building on Van Pelt St. Look for the signs and ring the bell to be buzzed in. The room is air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. For those driving, there is street parking and also several lots within a 2-block radius. Bus and rail transit access is very convenient. The old stalwart comic shop Fat Jack's Comicrypt is two blocks away at 20th and Sansom Sts. and we're right next to the famous Mutter Museum. There's lots of other shopping, museums, restaurants, markets and convenience stores in the area, too, so consider making a day of it!
OCTOBER 2022 PROGRAM
This month will be Halloween-themed. We're trying something a little different this month, running the feature earlier instead of last. We'll be finishing up with the first 5 episodes of Season 2 the delightful Star Trek: Lower Decks, with the next 5 eps to be run at the next meeting in December (Yes, we will be skipping November, please make a note of it).

COVID NOTICE: The Church at the moment is not requiring masks to be worn indoors. We will not be requiring masks WITHIN THE PARISH ROOM ITSELF. You may of course still wear one if you feel you need to do so. We have plenty of room for distancing as well.
