Please join Peter in celebrating the release of "It's All Pastel", his debut songwriting album, and his 40th birthday! Usually in the role of video game music composer, jazz pianist, choral accompanist/director, Peter has written songs detailing his journey in emotional healing. He brings his musical loves of the electro-pop songwriters/producers Imogen Heap and Aurora, classic video game soundtracks, european jazz, and treble clef choirs together to form the sonic backbone of the music. The music, although converging from a variety of influences, is rather pastel in nature. The harmonies and melodies are engaging but are a bit rounded at the corners, inviting a peaceful retelling rather than a visceral reliving. The lyrics are comprised of poems chronicling both the illuminations of struggles and the celebration of healing emotional scars. Peter will be joined by Robert Espe (saxophones, violin, mandolin, backing vocals), Ben Mars (bass), and George McCutchen (Drums).
The album will be played live, in its entirety, during the second set. For the first set Peter will perform a few covers from his favorite artists and a few pieces that he has composed to pay homage to his favorite musical styles and genres. I hope you will join us for a musical adventure through purposeful music.
