Walking Through Grief: A Pet Loss Support Walk
Hosted by the Social Work Team at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral
Come join us for our monthly grief support walk with others who understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. This event is a safe space to share stories, memories, and emotions while enjoying the outdoors. Whether you recently said goodbye to your companion or are still coping with an old loss, our walking group is here to offer support and companionship.
Walking in nature can offer a sense of peace, grounding, and quiet connection. Each walk includes a brief welcome, time on the trail, and an optional group reflection at the end.
Group Walk (45 minutes to 1 hour):
- 5-minute welcome and introduction
- 30–40-minute group walk on easy-to-intermediate trails
- Optional group reflection at the end of the walk to share memories or simply listen in a supportive space
Additional Details:
- Who: Adults grieving the loss of a pet. Space is limited to maintain a calm and intentional atmosphere.
- Cost: Free of charge
- Pets: Please leave pets at home. Service animals are welcome.
- Participation Requirements: Participants must sign a self-declaration form confirming they are able to walk for up to an hour and have consulted their physician if needed.
- Registration: Pre-registration is required via Eventbrite to attend.
