Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 24th August 2025 with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Maggie Carty from Ireland on tour and Donna Iverson. Maggie Carty is from the west coast of Ireland and is a banjo player and singer. She comes from a family steeped in Irish traditional music. She is now based in Melbourne and has performed at Australian and New Zealand festivals including the National Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Ceol Aneas, Nelson New Zealand, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Cresfest and Woodford Folk Festival. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter who is focused on melodically rich storytelling, acoustic folk-rock musings and imaginings. Last year, Donna and the Gems launched their EP ‘Object of Desire’ at the Club.
