Persuasion Training

And now it’s time for a friendly morning social and discussion of how the workshop is going to function. Everyone can meet each other, and set their own learning objectives at the same time!

Understanding Persuasion

Participants will confront the tricky concepts of persuasion, influence and beguilement. They will also revisit pre-assignment responses to enlarge an idea explored in that session.

Preparing to Persuade

Those students will learn how to get better at persuading, learning how best to manage a range of communication styles, and how confidence plays a vital role. They will understand when to try to push versus to pull; how to prime the listener for that desired end result, by framing the goals of their conversation in advance; and how to outmanoeuvre the power of frames, by becoming aware of reference points that they might have suspended before engaging in the conversation.

Getting Off on the Right Foot

This session will show you how to do just that: you will learn how to build rapport, and how to match, mirror and pace, ultimately leading to your ability to lead.

Presentation Strategies

Acquire the tools you need to put together a compelling and persuasive presentation in this session! Participants will work on their speaking abilities with exercises designed to instil long-term confidence.

Using Stories to Persuade

Here, participants are encouraged to ‘cafe-sit’, to make good use of our inborn social impulse and a finely honed talent for story. Plus, there is a chance to practise those skills too!

Using Neuro Linguistic Programming

Finally our students embark on one of my favourite parts of the course: we turn our attention to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). This section of the training is where our students develop their toolkit further, ready to use the qualities inherent in NLP to effect almost magical improvements in their capacity to work with others.

Workshop Wrap-Up

By the end of this class students will be able to gain the essential theory and tools they need to work toward turning their skills into clearly defined and measurable results. In addition, they will consciously work with the instructor on developing a plan for translating these skills into an action plan.
