About this Event
Pregnancy and postpartum bring major changes to the body, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop training or feel unsure about how to move. This 2-hour workshop will help you understand how your pelvic floor, core, and strength training interact during pregnancy and recovery.
Led by Lauren Sutherland (Pelvic Health Physiotherapist) and Brooke Johnston (Pre/Postnatal Performance Training Specialist), this session combines practical education with simple movement strategies so you can exercise with more confidence during pregnancy and safely rebuild strength postpartum.
Topics include
• Pelvic floor basics and how it responds to breath, load, and movement
• Common pelvic floor symptoms in pregnancy and postpartum (what’s normal vs not)
• Myths and misconceptions about exercising during pregnancy
• How to modify strength training as your body changes
• Breath, core engagement, and pressure management strategies
• Understanding diastasis rectus abdominis and how to train without fear
• General principles for preparing the body for birth
• Postpartum recovery and realistic return-to-exercise timelines
There will also be time for Q&A and discussion around how pelvic health physiotherapy and perinatal strength coaching can support you.
Duration: 2 hours
Format: Education with optional practical exercises
This workshop is ideal for pregnant individuals or new moms who want to stay active, strong, and informed throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
