Perdurantism — ICSB Spring Gala 2026
The International City School of Ballet presents its 2026 Spring Gala, bringing together current students, professional alumni, and guest artists in a curated program of classical and contemporary dance.
This year’s program, Perdurantism, centers on continuity and evolution—examining how artistic identity is formed, sustained, and carried forward over time through disciplined training.
The evening opens with a choreographed classwork demonstration set to early music by Gioachino Rossini, composed at the age of twelve. This work establishes the foundation of the program, offering a direct view into the technical structure that underlies all performance.
From this foundation, the program expands into classical selections from Don Quixote and Le Corsaire, drawn from the repertory of Marius Petipa, alongside contemporary works by Justin Allen (Rock School for Dance Education), Brent Smith, and Cammi Nevarez.
The performance features returning alumni Julie Joyner (formerly of The Royal Ballet, UK), Miharu Kikuchi (Cincinnati Ballet II), and Scarlett Schultes (Sarasota Ballet II), appearing alongside current ICSB students. Guest artist Luciano Perotto (Soloist, Ballet San Antonio) joins the program, bringing additional professional depth to the evening.
Also featured are members of Movement Society ATL, ICSB’s adult open dance program, extending the program’s exploration of development across different stages within the art form.
By placing dancers at multiple stages of their artistic lives on the same stage, Perdurantism offers a structured view of how dance evolves—revealing not isolated moments, but a continuum shaped by training, experience, and time.
