House of Waters weaves hammered dulcimer, bass, and drums into a rich tapestry that blurs the lines between jazz, world, classical, and progressive music. Nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental album at the 2024 Grammy Awards, House of Waters is at the forefront of musical innovation. Its intricate compositions and electrifying live performances create an unforgettable experience, guiding listeners into a realm of limitless musical exploration. The band has an extensive touring history around the world with label mates, Snarky Puppy.

With its 2024 Grammy Award Nominated, GroundUP Music release, On Becoming, Max ZT and Moto Fukushima are joined by first-call accompanists: drummer Antonio Sanchez, guitarist Mike Stern, and vocalist Priya Darshini. “There are no musical boundaries,” said hammered dulcimer virtuoso Max ZT, “We incorporate elements of world, jazz, indie rock, and classical music creating our own unique sound.” bassist Moto Fukushima added. Live tour the duo are joined by the ever prolific Argentina born, New York based, in demand drummer Franco Pinna.
The “Jimi Hendrix of the Hammered Dulcimer” (NPR), Max ZT is an innovator of an instrument rarely heard in contemporary music. With roots in Irish folk music, Max has studied in Senegal, where he trained with the Cissoko Griot family, and India, where he studied under the Indian classical santoor master Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. His unorthodox playing style has been a pioneering force in revolutionizing dulcimer techniques. Moto Fukushima is a recognized master of the six-string bass. With a background in jazz improvisation, Western classical music and the music of South America, Moto’s playing is a combination of finesse, subtlety, and power that leaves audiences “slack-jawed in awe.” (Jazz Wise).

Puuluup is an Estonian nu-folk duo formed in 2014. They are known for their unique blend of traditional Estonian folk music and modern influences, featuring the talharpa (a traditional bowed lyre) and electronic looping techniques and have performed throughout the world.
Puuluup describes their music as "neo-zombie-post-folk". Their sound is characterized by the ethereal sounds of the talharpa, amplified and manipulated with effects and loops. They incorporate elements of improvisation, traditional music from Vormsi island and the Finnish jouhikko repertoire, Sahel blues, Russian chastushkas, and even inspirations from Polish TV series and old Estonian punk. The duo consists of Ramo Teder on Talharpa, electronics, vocals. Ramo is also known for his solo project Pastacas and is a looping pioneer in Estonia and Marko Veisson on Talharpa, electronics, vocals. Marko has a background in anthropology and his fieldwork in Northern Ghana has influenced Puuluup's style.
