Pelvic Floor Foundations: Connecting Your Ribcage, Core, and Pelvic Floor in Pilates
This workshop is all about bringing more awareness—and intention—to how your body works together during your Pilates practice. We will start by breaking down pelvic floor anatomy and physiology in a way that is easy to understand and clinically meaningful, exploring what these muscles do and why they matter for both movement and overall function.
From there, we will connect the dots between your pelvic floor, diaphragm, abdominal wall, and ribcage—often referred to as the “core canister.” You will learn how breath, ribcage position, and pressure management all influence pelvic floor performance, and how small adjustments can make a significant difference in how you move and feel.
Most importantly, we will translate this into practice. You will learn how to intentionally coordinate your ribcage and pelvis during Pilates exercises to improve control, efficiency, and overall movement quality—without overthinking every rep.
This is a space to get curious, ask questions, and refine your understanding of how everything works together so you can move with more confidence and connection both in and outside of your Pilates practice.
