"Forever Stories Of: Moving Parties" will come out on Earshift Music on November 15th.The album is an exploration of composed and improvised music that blends jazz, experimental sounds, and classical influences. Peggy Lee, a cellist and composer, and Cole Schmidt, a guitarist and composer, have created a unique musical dialogue that breaks traditional boundaries. Their new collaboration expands on their past work and explores new sonic territories.

Peggy Lee is an improvising cellist and composer who leads and collaborates across numerous ensembles including her own groups – The Peggy Lee Band, Film In Music, and Echo Painting – and collective projects such as Waxwing, Handmade Blade and Beatings Are In The Body. She also coleads the Canadian/Australian improvising quartet Open Thread. Peggy has toured and recorded with many leading artists including Wayne Horvitz, Robin Holcomb, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Darius Jones and Dave Douglas.
Cole Schmidt: composer. guitarist. improviser. programmer. Cole writes for psychedelic chamber jazz ensemble SICK BOSS, creates post-noise soul loops in I THINK I SAW YOU SEE ME, and composed music for multi-genre band PUGS & CROWS. As a guitarist, he performs regularly with Peggy Lee, Marin Patenaude and Kneejerk Quartet. Cole has been curating DIY shows in Vancouver for over 10 years. He was part of the multidisciplinary outfit Sawdust Collector, and works as an Artistic Director for the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and Barking Sphinx Performing Society. Recently, Cole released SICK BOSS’ second album “BUSINESSLESS” (November 2023), and I THINK I SAW YOU SEE ME’s debut album (July 2023).
