About this Event
Peckham Life Drawing invites you to start the creative year with a figure drawing session.
All abilities welcome, with drawing assistance given to those whom ask. As there is nudity to make everybody comfortable over 18s only please. There is also a bar.
Materials will be provided, but do feel free to bring along anything else you would like to draw with.
Whether it’s for fun or your folio - or maybe it’s both. Explore life drawing as serious fun, sessions where everybody is more than welcome.
Starting with poses so fast you won’t have time to think your hands will do all the work and ending with longer poses where you can spend more time exploring your own unique creativity.
With a break in between to discuss life drawing as a contemporary creative practice or just enjoy a cocktail or two...
Each Peckham Life Drawing session invites fantastic models to share their skills.
Any questions at all just DM founder and faciltator Luce @peckham.lifedrawing or email [email protected]
Luce Russell (MA RCA) is a Peckham based artist, since 2017 they have been inviting everybody to draw (everybody) as Peckham Life Drawing. Creating and facilitating diverse range sessions that widen experiences of life drawing beyond (just) observationally drawing a model.
Approaching life drawing(s) as both noun and verb, experiments in queering the notion of traditional life drawing by diversifying both whom and how we approach and disseminate representation as a community. Inviting serious play between paper and skin, and acts of embodiment(s).
Sessions include the Garden Museum, Crisis, Southwark Pensioners Centre, Copeland Gallery, Pecan Charity, Central Saint Martins, Triangle Deptford, OHSH projects, SET Social and the Peckham Queer Art Boot
