About this Event

For PAWA members only, if you'd like to become a member, please go to our website at pleinairwashingtonartists.com

PAWA has a mask up mandate when around others. Stay 6 feet apart. At this time we discourage carpooling with others who are not in your immediate household.

Please check with the paint out location's website for any site-specific regulations prior to the paint-out. https://www.portseattle.org/maritime/fishermen-terminal

Fishermen's Terminal is one of the best places to do some maritime scenes because of public access to the docks. Beautiful in the late summer light.

Facilitator: Brooke Borcherding

Cell Phone: (310) 259-5672

Meeting location:

Sunday Sep 5th 9 AM: meet underneath the main center overhang between Chinook’s and the Deli/market (directly between the 2 hour parking lot and the water).

Lunch: Bring lunch or take a load off at the restaurant on site called Chinook’s for some seafood fare.

After Lunch:

More painting! Try another view, another dock, a different boat, or a row of boats! I’ll be there all day and looking forward to some late afternoon light (hint hint to the late birds, catch the second half!)

Directions:

Fishermen’s Terminal is just West of the Ballard bridge on the South side of the cut. There are a variety of ways to get there but the bridge exits may be tricky. Coming from the North on I-5 or 99 South, head West to Ballard, take Leary Way to get the bridge, cross over the bridge to the South side, take the Emerson St. exit and then a right on 19th where there should be a sign for Fisherman’s Terminal. From the South coming North take the Mercer St. exit, take a right on Westlake, follow along past Lake Union until it turns into Nickerson St, past the Fremont bridge, continue for signs to Emerson St., Left onto Emerson and Right onto 19th.

FAQs:

What to bring? Your gear. Water/snack/sack lunch.

Is there water, bathrooms, shelter available? Bring your own water. Yes there are indoor public bathrooms inside the building.

Is there cell coverage at the location? Yes.

Parking: Parking is free in the lot but note the time on the signs. You can park in the 2 hour zone right out front to drop off your gear, then I recommend moving your car to the 8 hour lots that are surrounding the area.

Attendees signing up for paint-outs, if you find you can't attend after all, please cancel on Eventbrite so that the facilitator may have a proper head count, thanks!

All paint-outs are for Plein Air Washington Artists members. It is easy to join PAWA online. Please have any friend do so if they would like to participate. Please ask the facilitator if a guest can come to a free event. Sometimes there may not be enough space for non-members. A spouse is always welcome.

It is a good idea to print out this Eventbrite page and bring with you to be able to refer to this information.

Thank you for signing up and HAPPY PAINTING
