Chart-topping saxophonist Paul Taylor returns with It’s A Brand New Day, his thirteenth recording as a leader and his debut for Shanachie Entertainment. The title reflects a spirit of renewal, something Taylor embraces after three years since his last recording. “This album represents a new cycle for me,” he says. “The title reflects my desire to give fans an optimistic outlook as we approach each brand new day.”Taylor has built an impressive career with multiple Billboard #1 hits and collaborations with artists including Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Peabo Bryson, Keiko Matsui, The Rippingtons, Peter White, Euge Groove, Michael Lington, Jamie Jones, and Marion Meadows. “I simply love creating and making my own music,” he says. “I’m happiest when I’m doing just that—it never gets old.”
It’s A Brand New Day features ten tracks—nine originals and a captivating take on Billie Eilish’s “Chihiro.” Growing up in Denver, Taylor discovered his love for the saxophone in a youth band and was inspired by Grover Washington Jr., Earth, Wind & Fire, Patrice Rushen, and Quincy Jones.
