About this Event
Pathways to Homeownership & Economic Opportunity is a Community Leadership Summit designed to connect community and church leaders to organizations, programs, and resources that support housing stability, workforce development, financial empowerment, and pathways to homeownership.
This event will begin with a briefing on the Status of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) Report, a national report produced by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), which provides data on homeownership, income, housing affordability, and economic trends impacting Black households both nationally and locally.
Following the briefing, speakers and organizations will present resources and programs in three key areas:
- Advocacy – Understanding policy, legal resources, and housing rights
- Affordability – Down payment assistance, lending programs, and financial guidance
- Access – Job training, employment programs, and workforce development opportunities
The goal of this summit is to ensure that community leaders know what resources exist, who to contact, and how to connect the individuals and families they serve to programs that can help improve housing stability, increase income opportunities, and create pathways to homeownership.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet directly with community organizations and resource partners to build relationships and gather information to take back to their communities.
This event is part of Realtist Week, a national initiative led by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), with events taking place across the country focused on expanding homeownership, economic opportunity, and community empowerment.
