About this Event
Nothing quite like a few icy adventure films to cool you down.
Join us at Patagonia Cape Town for an evening of snow, ice, and mountain stories.
We’ll be screening three short films that celebrate human-powered movement in wild places - from the quiet mastery of carving a perfect turn to the creative communities shaped by life in the mountains.
Le Moulin des Artistes, a portrait of a 16th-century mill in the Chamonix valley where Peter and Anati have created a ski workshop, art space, and gathering place for like-minded free spirits. Through Peter’s handmade wooden skis and Anati’s paintings and music, the film explores how dedication to craft can bring purpose, build lasting community, and even help overcome disaster.
Simple as a Turn, featuring Swiss snowboarder and board shaper Nicholas “Nico” Wolken. For Wolken, turning is snowboarding’s most elemental act - the simplest expression of what riding is all about. From his years as a pro rider to co-founding KORUA Shapes, he has spent much of his life chasing the deep feeling that comes when mind, body, and board come together in a perfect carve.
DIG follows Alaskan snowboarder Ryland Bell. A commercial fisherman and longtime big-mountain rider based in Haines, Bell spends his seasons quietly hiking and riding the massive spines in his backyard. In April 2025, he heads deep into those mountains in search of the biggest line of his life.
Pull in, grab a drink, and escape into the mountains for a few hours.
