We will bring chilled Jack Black Beer to enjoy afterwards and ask that you contribute to the Volunteer Wildfire Volunteers - https://vws.org.za/vws-support/On Thursday, 2 April 2026, we meet at Kloof Nek for the run to start at 18:00. We will run the Lions Head / Signal Hill Trail Route.
Meet in the parking area on the left just 100 metres up Tafelberg Road from the traffic circle on Kloof Nek (where the Sanparks info centre is).
The route will start with a crossing of Kloof road at the Nek (please be careful), head up Signal Hill Road, and then almost immediately we turn left and head along the single track path that follows the spine of Signal Hill to the viewpoint at the top. We then head back the way we came for a short while, until we get to the foot of Lion’s Head itself, where we turn right (west). We will take a beautiful route back on a scenic path that runs along the lower western slopes of Lion’s Head, above the houses of Bantry Bay and Clifton with superb views of the setting sun.
Difficulty grading: 7/10 (not too much in the way of hills, but some sections where the path is a little uneven underfoot.)
Distance is about 8km.
NB: PLEASE ALL DO YOUR BEST TO STAY IN YOUR GROUPS - MOST PARTICULARLY DO NOT RUN AHEAD OF YOUR GROUP LEADER. If you are new to the runs and unsure of the pace of the various groups, then rather run with a slower group initially.
