Join Trio Menil for a thought-provoking performance of classical music for piano, violin, and cello. This free concert will feature music spanning over two centuries and will display the incredible variety of sounds and colors possible with a piano trio. The centerpiece of this program is the world premier of "Canyon Canticles" by Sam Wu, which was written specifically for Trio Menil.

About the performers
Based in Houston, Texas, Trio Menil is a versatile ensemble at home in both the concert hall and classroom. The trio has performed in venues throughout North America, and has received the Grand Prize and Odyssey Chamber Music Series Award at the 2023 Plowman Chamber Music Competition, First Prize in the 2024 Concurso-Festival de Música de Cámara “Diálogo”, and was a finalist in the 2024 Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition.
Trio Menil was formerly in DACAMERA’s Young Artist Program, where they presented concerts in collaboration with art exhibitions, and taught music-integrative workshops in Houston public and private schools. This initiative has taken them everywhere from kindergarten classrooms to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Formed at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, the trio has worked with James Dunham, Paul Kantor, Jon Kimura Parker, Virginia Weckstrom, and Kathleen Winkler.
The trio is named after the Menil Collection, a museum and neighborhood of art in the heart of Houston, and shares the same mission to attract, educate, and inspire diverse audiences through art.
