Pas de Deux Master Class

Come join us for an exciting in-person event at The Place ( Kings Cross) London, UK, Studio 6. This Ballet Master class is perfect for dancers looking to enhance their pas de deux skills or trying for the first time. We will learn a section from the White Swan Pas de Deux (Act 2) from Swan Lake. Instructors have performed this role and will share the skills of how to dance with a partner and refine your technique in a supportive environment. A great opportunity to elevate your dance abilities and connect with fellow dancers. Hope to see you there!
We will first warm up with a quick ballet barre , then some introducing to pas de deux technique and learn an excerpt from White Swan.
Suggested level : Improvers/ Intermediate - non professional and professionals welcome!

Meet the Teachers !
* Giovanna Lamboglia
Giovanna began her training in Brazil at 9 years old and moved to Rio de Janeiro to attended the Maria Olenewa State Dance School (Municipal Ballet of Rio de Janeiro affiliated School), based on Vaganova Methodology. She graduated in 2014 and performed with the Company in Coppelia and Nutcraker productions. She was awarded First Place and Best dancer in National competitions. She has competed in and placed in numerous International Competitions including American Dance Competition 2015, USA (Top 15 with Variation and Highest Score with Pas Deux); 7th Helsinki International Ballet Competition 2012,Finland; Youth America Grand Prix NYC Finals 2013, USA; Silver Medal at the International Dance Seminar In Brasilia, 2011,Brazil.
In 2015 she got a soloist contract to dance with Ballets de France in Toulouse, France.
She moved to Canada in 2016 to be a Soloist Dancer with Canada´s Ballet Jörgen. In Toronto she also had the pleasure to work with Evelyn Hart in her own group and with teachers and choreographers of National Ballet of Canada.
Giovanna secured a scholarship to complete her American Ballet Theatre National Teaching Curriculum provided by YUMIKO dancewear and has since been teaching in Canada, Brazil and England, and leading international masterclasses for students across the world, from France to India. Giovanna is now based in London where she is a freelance dancer and teacher where she teaches at Danceworks , London Ballet Classes and Cit Lit . She holds a degree for Cultural Production and is also a founder of Dance Connections Agency where she help dancers to achieve their dreams in the dance industry. She is guest artist doing the role of Clara since 2018 with Symphony of Halifax in Canada .

*Denilson Almeida
Brazilian dancer Denilson Almeida joined The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme from the start of the 2020/21 Season and entered the Company as an Artist in the 2022/23 Season. Almeida began his training at the Petite Danse School of Dance in Rio de Janeiro from the age of ten. In 2017 he competed at the Prix de Lausanne where he won the Rudolf Nureyev Artistic Prize and a scholarship to The Royal Ballet School. While at The Royal Ballet School, Almeida was awarded The Ballet Association Prize and his choreography for the Ursula Morton Emerging Choreographer programme was chosen to be further developed for the end of year performance in 2019. In his graduate year, he was awarded The Worshipful Company Of Gold and Silver Wyre Award.

With The Royal Ballet School, he performed roles in Sylvia, Napoli Variation, Paquita pas de trois, The Two Pigeons, Ashton’s La Valse, and Goyo Montero’s Pulse. In 2020 he performed an excerpt from Ashton’s Rhapsody at the Ballet School Stars Gala in Rome and at the Prix de Lausanne, representing The Royal Ballet School. While a student he danced with The Royal Ballet on stage in MacMillan’s Manon, Kranko’s Onegin, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.

With the Company, he has performed in Kyle Abraham's The Weathering, alongside other numerous corps roles. He created a role in Untitled, 2023.
