Under the moniker Paper Beat Scissors Tim Crabtree constructs delicate and intricate tapestries of songs. Their complexity both belies and serves their simple aim: to create a point of emotional connection and communication with the listener; To hold a space to disappear, briefly, inside the spells they cast. Over 15 years, 3 albums, 3 live EPs and 2021's Spanish language EP "la Mitad" Crabtree has drawn praise from the BBC "Startling and beautiful", Rolling Stone "enormously powerful layers of sound" and Exclaim "a unique ability to use classical and electronic elements to blur the lines of folk music and leave you breathless".
