If there’s one thing Panic Shack know, it’s how to have a good time. The Cardiff quintet, formed in 2018, as a middle-finger to the “members-only club” atmosphere of local indie and punk scenes – not just because they’re male-dominated but because they make playing music seem out of reach or, even worse, boring.

Their effervescent brand of socially conscious, intoxicating indie-punk – complete with dance routines – quickly saw them become one of the most beloved live bands in the country, touring with the likes of Bob Vylan, Soft Play and Orlando Weeks; playing at festivals around the world including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and SXSW; causing a press and radio frenzy, and even spurring a viral TikTok dance craze.

The result: a Top 40 album that’s become one of the year’s most talked about debuts and a fervent following addicted to the good time.
