About the film:
Arna’s Children follows the lives of children at a theatre school in the Jenin refugee camp, founded by Israel-born Jewish human rights activist Arna Mer Khamis who sought to provide an outlet for the children to express their anger and grief amid the brutality of Israel's military occupation. Years later, Arna's son Juliano returns to the camp to find some of the children who once starred in theatre plays about kings and queens, had grown up and joined militant resistance fighting against the Israeli army.
Through the eyes of these Palestinian children, the film captures the reality of life in occupied Jenin, which remains subject to deadly raids by the Israeli army as well as settler violence today.
Fundraising information:
All proceeds including ticket sales, added donations & further fundraising will go directly to HEAL Palestine, a verified organisation dedicated to providing critical medical aid, mental health support, and resilience-building programmes within Gaza and to provide ongoing support to many of the Palestinian child amputees and injured, displaced people who have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip.
