About this Event
Bring your friends for belly laughs, beer, fun, sausages, and the secrets of your new favorite country: Germany
Laugh till your sides hurt, sway to the music, and swig foaming German beer with your friends, as German comedian Paco Erhard lets you in on Germany’s secrets with 75 minutes of award-winning comedy.
Wanna be German? Of course you do. And now you can, as German comedian Paco Erhard teaches you how.
For one special night, on May 29, St. Petersburg’s prime German-American Society in Pinellas Park turns into #LOLtoberfest: Kick-ass German comedy (yes, that exists!), cold beer, delicious pretzels, authentic German sausage, and just a fantastic German time.
You will laugh. If you want. Zis is not an order.
Discover the German in you! Celebrate your heritage! And laugh your socks off in the process.
Whether you’re a native German, an American celebrating your German heritage, or you just try to make sense of your German co-workers — Paco Erhard’s 5-Step Guide to Being German ”will have you in stitches, whether you’re German or not.” (CBC, Canada).
Experience hysterical dilemmas on the Autobahn, learn the truth about lederhosen, find out how the "no sense of humor" stereotype is both true and not true at all, and come to see: we Germans are not blunt or rude, we just value honesty more highly than other people’s feelings.
Understand Germany better. Understand your Oma Hilda better. Understand yourself better. And laugh your socks off in the process.
Finally America has a German comedian, and his name is… Paco?!?!?
A German comic who wins awards in the US — don’t worry, that’s actually not one of the signs of the apocalypse. (We checked.) The Orlando Weekly finds Paco “chaotically hilarious”, Broadway World calls him “one of the best cultural comedians in the world”, and Australia’s largest newspaper, the Herald Sun, even says his show is “genius” and that “the comedy world is a better place for it.”
But… “Paco”? Is he actually German? Well, his German family tree goes back to 1548 and a recent 23andMe test showed his DNA contained traces of sausage. So yes: very German. His real name is Frank Erhard Hübener, “Paco” is just a nickname he got when he lived in Spain. In general he feels less German and more like a citizen of the world. Typically German!
Come dressed like a German and get $5 off!
Let’s have a great time together, laugh ourselves silly, and make Germany super uncomfortable by celebrating the heck out of it! So: if you come dressed “like a German”, we’ll give you five bucks off the regular ticket price. But: we’ll check at the door that you’re actually dressed German. Ze rules are ze rules.
A message to actual native Germans: Moin, Servus und Hallo! 😄😛
A rip-roaring good time for Germans, Americans, and anyone in between. The beer will flow, authentic German food will fill your belly, you’ll laugh till your sides hurt. And in the end we’ll all understand each other a little bit better, and we’ll drink and talk into the night.
🍺 🥨 🤣
