Join the Lincoln Road Runners & Walkers for our first ever "Pace not Race".To be held on Sunday the 7th June on our beautiful 'summer' 3km course through the Te Whāriki wetlands.
The aim of this social, free event is participation and stretching your distance goals! The distance you chose is entirely up to you.
Never run a 5km before? Then aim for 2 laps!
Always wanted to run a half marathon? Then 7 laps will get you there!
What about a marathon? Then aim for 14 laps!
As the name suggests, "Pace not Race" is not a competitive race, and therefore it wont be timed.
But you will get plenty of support and encouragement from the LRR crew as well as from each other. An aid station with refreshments will be also be provided. And there will be random spot prizes.
An event briefing will be held at 7:45am at the start/finish area, which is on the grass next to the basketball court in Te Whāriki playground on Waikirikiri Avenue. Roads will not be closed, and there are a handful of road crossings meaning that you must obey all road rules. Ages 14 and under will need a to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Course maps will be provided, and the course clearly marked.
