This FREE family friendly event is made possible by community partners Orchid Giving Circle, Origin Bank, & America's Chamber for Business. An event created by PACE the organizers of , we present "" filled with movement, storytelling, networking, and more! We have many interactive workshops including Yoga, Self-Defense, Storytelling, Poetry, Culture, Language and Art! Come support and learn about local Non-Profits & Businesses and your community!

This free event is a perfect opportunity to gather with fellow kababayans, share stories and experiences, and strengthen our bonds. Let us come together as a community to celebrate our unique cultural identity and honor the values that make us proud Filipino-Americans in DFW. Don't miss this chance for a fun-filled day!

Info: Jasmine Hunt is a Yoga and Wellness instructor, educator, and practitioner dedicated to creating a diverse and decolonized voice in the wellness and diversity spaces. With a passion for mindfulness, empowerment, and maximizing performance potential through Yoga, Jasmine has impacted hundreds of professionals, individuals, and young minds. She began her Yoga journey at 21, practicing both nationally and internationally. She later founded LIFE ON A MAT in 2016, a Yoga and integrative personal development business aimed at serving the Dallas/Fort Worth community and beyond.

Info: Kristian Kabuay is an artist/entrepreneur/futurist specializing in endangered writing systems and tattoos from the Philippines. As a leader for the propagation and instruction of prePhilippine scripts, he launched his own edutainment business specializing in custom art, books, events, technology, and apparel. Kristian has spoken around the world at museums, schools, and companies. His work is wide-reaching that spans across new media and traditional practices. He is currently working on his 10th book, 2nd documentary, education startup, and honing his traditional tattooing practice.

Info: Veronica is a poet, leader, event planner and more. She has been writing since elementary school and performing since 18. Veronica works with Dallas Schools to teach creative writing and performs poetry for them. Her writing consists of Christian Filipino heritage and American culture. She strives to be an outlet for upcoming artist and hopes to use her talents to touch others on a national scale.

Storytelling Workshop by Dallas Asian American Historical Society
Host: Denise Raroque Johnson

Info: Denise was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Texas at 17. She is the co-founder and Program Director of the Dallas Asian American Historical Society, where she is dedicated to preserving and amplifying the diverse stories of the Asian American community. She is also the creator of Hear Me Roar, a documentary series that uplifts Asian American voices and explores the untold narratives that shape history.

Info: Shadia Lee is currently an Event Producer & Stylist for Betty Reiter. She is a Fashion Professional with 20 years of experience curating fashion shows & music videos. She is a Board Member of FIDO, Co-Founder of Against the Grain, and serves on her local PTA. She is a Community Advocate, Avid Leader, & Proud Mother. She is thrilled to be able to mix her love for fashion with philanthropic work. Her life and heart are overflowing with gratitude.

Info: Dr. Henson has served for several years as the State Secretary of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, TX (PACCTX)—a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening business-education partnerships and championing economic empowerment. She is also a founding board member of the Texas Early Childhood Educational Consultant Network (TECECN) and serves on the Board of Directors for Agape Christian Academy and the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TXAEYC)—all nonprofit organizations committed to advancing early childhood and special education. Dr. Henson's unwavering commitment to empowering educators, advocating for students, and fostering community collaborations has left a lasting impact across Texas and beyond. She continues to inspire the next generation of educators and leaders by bridging research, policy, and practice in creating transformative educational experiences that ensure every child—regardless of ability—has the opportunity to thrive.

Info: Emi Matsushita is a movement artist, educator, and creative entrepreneur with 28+ years of global dance & arts experience. Passionate about empowering creatives, she coaches them through mindset, embodiment, and entrepreneurship—work that is deeply personal to her. She is the current Chair of Art Boost Dallas, an arts entrepreneurship conference, working alongside the BCA and Dallas Morning News, KERA, and SMU. Her MFA research on hip-hop dance culture at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London reflects her commitment to cultural understanding and social impact. As a Creative Director, she has led transformative events like Open Your Mind London, Bridges Festival, and Mount Dora Movement Festival. Currently, she teaches at the University of North Texas and Dallas College, supporting the next generation of world changers to tap into their artistry, heal through movement, and live embodied lives.

Self Defense by Protector Martial Arts
Host: Guro Mike Pana

Info: Guro Mike Pana is a lifelong martial artist with a focus and passion for the Filipino fighting arts. He is the founder and chief instructor of Bayani Arnis, as well as the Texas representative for the Atienza Kali blade system, holding he rank of Associate 5. He is the owner of Protector Martial Arts in Frisco, Texas, a private martial art group that teaches everyday people how to be better protectors of themselves, their families, and communities. He is a full-time Guardian for Lewisville ISD, where he works to protect children and teachers from active threats. He is also the founder of the Pinoy Patriarch Project, an online movement dedicated to empowering Filipino men to be better husbands, fathers, and leaders in their community. Guro Mike lives in the Frisco area with his wife Kristine, and his three sons Ethan, Evan, and Elliot.
