Date: July 20-24, 2026Time: Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm; Friday 9am-1pm
Pre-Camp meeting via Zoom: Saturday, July 11 (10-11:30) This optional meeting will give young writers an opportunity to meet writing coaches and fellow writers and get ready for Writing Camp. The Zoom link will be emailed the week before.
Where: University of Oklahoma, Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education in Collings Hall, 820 Van Vleet Oval, Norman, OK 73019
Transportation: Parents/Guardians must provide or arrange transportation for their young writer. To ensure adult supervision, drop-off and pick-up must be no more than 15 minutes before 9am and no more than 15 minutes after 3pm.
Lunch/Snacks/Water Bottles: Lunch and snacks are included in the price of registration. Most days we will dine in one of the campus cafeterias. Respond below for dietary restrictions. Students are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles.
Grades: Going into grades 7th-12th in the coming school year.
Camp FEES: To cover the costs of staff, materials, OWP Bling (e.g., T-shirts & journals), lunches, and snacks, the camp will cost $250 ($200 for Earlybird Registration by June 1st). However, it is the intention of the Oklahoma Writing Project to include students from diverse economic means.
Scholarships will be available on the basis of need.
