Join us for a scenic ride on the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway, where history and nature blend in a unique experience.An outing has been arranged to travel to Waterford to visit the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway on Saturday 13th September 2025. The outing will travel from Dublin Heuston to Waterford via Kilkenny on Iarnród Éireann service train and between Waterford & Kilmeaden via private coach. Our return to Dublin will be via the scenic Waterford and Limerick railway to Limerick Jct. and then via the Cork-Dublin mainline to Dublin Heuston.
Our trip along the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway will include the rarely used section between Dan Donovon Tunnel & Bilberry, close to the site of the former Waterford South Station. Photographic stops have also been requested for Bilberry and Mount Congreve Platforms.
A three-course lunch has been arranged for the group at The Viking Hotel, Waterford and this is included in the ticket price.
Munster Branch members may join the outing at Waterford Plunkett Station and leave the outing at either Waterford or Limerick Jct. Please be at Waterford Plunkett Station by 09.40 hours for collection by coach at 09.55.
