Forged in Flagstaff returns for another blacksmithing experience!
About this Event

The 4-H Blacksmithing Certification Camp is an immersive, two-part program designed for teens who want to build advanced metalworking skills while developing leadership experience.
The first phase takes place before summer and includes 3 hands-on workshops held at Tucson Village Forge (Farm) on May 16th, June 6th, and June 27th from 4-7pm. During these sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing, including tool use, safety, and core forging techniques. This foundational training prepares campers for the second phase of the program. These pre-camp sessions are mandatory for completion of the program.
The second phase is a five-day intensive camp in Flagstaff, where participants will further develop their blacksmithing skills while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Campers will work closely with experienced instructors, take on more complex projects, and learn how to support and guide others in a forge setting.
Upon successful completion of both phases, participants will earn the Tucson Village Forge Blacksmithing Certification. This certification qualifies campers to teach and help lead blacksmithing classes at the farm in the fall, based on availability. This camp is ideal for teens looking to deepen their craft, step into leadership roles, and turn a hands-on skill into real-world teaching experience.
