It’s time to declutter your gear closet for our fourth-annual Outdoor Gear Swap! Join us at Arizona Wilderness DTPHX on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9 am to 11 am, to swap your gently loved outdoor gear and clothing with others in the community.
WHAT TO SWAP
Up to ten things you use for outdoor adventures - hiking shoes, tents, climbing gear, backpacks, jackets, hats, hiking clothing, outdoor pet gear, and more. If it helps you enjoy the outdoors, it’s welcome at the swap!
Please follow the golden rule: Only bring items to swap that you’d want to take home! Damaged items cannot be swapped.
HOW TO SWAP
1. Register for the event! Tickets are required for entry at this event.
2. Gather up to ten gently used items you want to swap. Only bring items you’d feel comfortable taking home - damaged gear cannot be swapped.
3. Check-in & setup (9:00 - 9:30 AM): Doors open at 9 am! After checking in at the front, take some time to lay out your gear in the designated sections. This helps keep things organized and allows everyone to see what’s available. No swapping during this time!
4. Swapping begins at 9:30 AM! Once announced, you can start picking items. This event runs on community trust - we are not monitoring who brings or takes what. Please be mindful and take only as many items as you brought to swap, so everyone can find something they need.
5. Win prizes, make friends, chat about the outdoors, and enjoy! We will host a free raffle giveaway with prizes from our sponsor, REI. And if you want to hang out for brunch or a beer, Arizona Wilderness will be open all day!
Any leftover gear will be donated to a local organization that provides unhoused individuals with free outdoor gear, clothing, and essentials for comfort and safety.
*Please note, we are not liable for any broken items. The swapper is responsible for checking the functionality and safety of the items before attending the community event.
