About this Event
Join us for a screening of the short documentary OUTCRY: Alchemists of Rage at the Boxelder Community Room in Cincinnati on Sunday, October 6th, at 7PM.
This film follows Chicago artist Whitney Bradshaw as she photographs women mid-scream in healing and cathartic group sessions where long-silenced stories conjure rage, sorrow, and joy. An activist and sexual abuse survivor, Whitney uses her art to fuel action for women’s rights, culminating in a grassroots fight for abortion access in Ohio. The film offers a visceral rallying cry for the revolutionary power of women’s voices.
Directed by Clare Major and produced by Jen Rainin and Rivkah Beth Medow, co-founders of Frankly Speaking Films, the film premiered at the Frameline Film Festival in June 2024.
After the 30-minute film, director Clare Major and film subject Whitney Bradshaw will participate in a half-hour moderated discussion and Q&A.
Boxelder Community Room is a meeting/event space for radical organizing, art shows, performances, and community-led classes and workshops. It is envisioned as a space for learning and growing in community, with an anti-capitalist orientation.
Tickets are free, and donations to support the film's impact campaign are happily accepted — RSVP today to reserve your spot!
