Edward Barton and guests – Live at The Yard, Manchesterlater@ are delighted to host our first Manchester event at The Yard in Cheetham Hill – a beautiful creative workspace and arts venue – with a very special night of music, collaboration, and Christmas cheer.
For this one-off evening, Edward Barton (poet, songwriter, musician, producer, and cult Manchester figure) presents Out of the House with Edward, joined by Jane and Bbird (with two B’s) and an array of special guests.
Jane will perform It’s a Fine Day a cappella for the first time since 1982, when Jane and Barton supported the Cocteau Twins at the ICA. The song, written by Barton, went on to become an international hit for Opus III, was sampled by Orbital, and remains one of Manchester’s most enduring underground classics. Hearing it in its raw original form will be a rare treat for all.
The night also introduces Barton’s new project “Your Song, My Song”, in which he co-writes with musicians, singers, and writers, premiering the collaborations live on stage.
