Step into history with Out of the Archives — a powerful, one-day exhibition dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich legacy of Houston’s leather community.This unique showcase features a curated collection of artifacts and archival materials spanning from the 1970s to today, offering a rare and intimate look at the people, stories, and culture that helped shape the community. From moments of resilience to expressions of pride, each piece tells a deeply human story worth remembering.
Hosted by Daddy Gil, Texas Handler 2025 and Kevin Hamby, Mr. Prime Choice 2026 with the Heart of Leather Foundation, this exhibition reflects an ongoing commitment to protecting and interpreting LGBTQIA+ leather history.
More than an exhibition, Out of the Archives is part of a larger vision — to establish a permanent museum space where these histories can live on through education, preservation, and public engagement. Many of these artifacts represent lives and stories that deserve to be seen, honored, and remembered.
