From this land's rainy climate and journeys across bodies of water, to spiritual practices, learning to swim, hydrotherapy, storm watching, or that cool glass of water on a sunny day!
Join Still Moon Arts Society at Connect Fest for a two-part event this Spring Season!
What to expect:
- Listen to intercultural stories from esteemed guest speakers Lori Snyder and the Quantum Care Team (Masa Kateb & Eda Ertan). Lori will speak from the perspective of the Indigenous people of the land, while the Quantum Care team will offer an experience of Traditional Syrian Storytelling along the therapeutic melodies of the Quartzophone (Crystal Harp)
- Share your water-related memories and hopes during an intercultural water dialogue, and explore your creativity with a natural dyeing experience to co-create a section of a giant puppet named "Water Woman". Your contributions will create Water Woman's dress, which will symbolize our collective relationship with water, and become a vibrant tapestry of shared stories, wishes, and prayers for water.

About Guest Speaker | Lori Snyder
Lori Snyder is an Indigenous Metis herbalist and educator with a deep knowledge of wild, medicinal and edible plants that grow in everyday spaces. Through Lori’s eyes, our immediate surroundings take on a new life and offer a wealth of untapped nutritional and ecological resources. Through Indigenous ways of knowing and pedagogies, Lori leads people of diverse backgrounds in reconnecting to the Earth’s wisdom.
Through Indigenous ways of knowing and pedagogies, Lori leads people of diverse backgrounds in reconnecting to the Earth’s wisdom. She has collaborated with numerous organizations, including the Provincial Health Association of BC, Vancouver Parks Board, the VanDusen Botanical Garden, Douglas Community College, the David Suzuki Foundation, the Moberly Arts & Culture Centre, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Bra, Italy.
Lori’s vision is to continually co-create insightful dialogues, to remediate and reconcile with our Indigenous plants as we reintroduce them into our urban landscapes. By sharing and growing these practices, communities can access our true local foods and medicines, which support collective resilience and deep ecological healing for all species.
Lori is Metis a descendant from the Powhatan, Dakota, T’suu tina, Nakota, Cree, Nipissing, Dene and Anishinaabe peoples, mixed with French, Swedish and Celtic ancestry. She was born and raised on the lands of the Squamish people, near Vancouver, Canada, overlooking the Salish Sea on the Pacific Northwest Coast of Turtle Island.
About Guest Speakers | The Quantum Care Team
Discover the power of storytelling and therapeutic sound with the Quantum Care Team, Masa Kateb (L) & Eda Ertan (R), who work to transform perspectives and practices on mindful movement, holistic health and intentional growth.
Masa is an Equitable Justice Activist and 'Hakawatieh' -female storyteller- from humanity's most ancient capital city. Seeking to preserve her heritage, Kateb founded Awzan Events and offers a fresh perspective on what Syrian/Arab culture is about. She is the Managing Director of Quantum Care where she coaches on leadership & growth, and is the Manager of Communications & Marketing with Still Moon Arts Society. Kateb's background spans business administration, journalism, leadership, marketing, team sports, and community development, and has served on various boards and committees to steer a meaningful impact in the fabric of the universe.
Eda is a Turkish-Canadian Sufi Muslim, Healthcare Innovator and Founder of Quantum Care in Vancouver, BC specializing in neuroscience-based coaching and consultancy. Focusing on preventive, accessible practices, and leveraging a decade of experience in Canadian healthcare, Ertan advocates for research-based and trauma-informed methods that are rooted in ancient and modern sciences. She coaches on mindful movement, wellness, and growth with a background in psychology, grief therapy and community development. As Executive Director of Brock House Society, she promotes active living and holistic health for older adults, and serves as a Board Director at BC Hospice Palliative Care Association.
Together, Eda and Masa cultivate a compassionate community that seeks to impact meaningful change in the world, starting with Self.
