Other-than-human - a Vorspiel event
The Other-than-human event at Studio Baustelle presents performance-talks, performances, short films and installations intended for, created by or with other-than-humans, be it cybernetic sound entities, the non-living, bacteria, or your cat. As Donna Haraway posited, the crises we are facing requires an ecological perspective to reshape our relationship to the earth and all of its inhabitants. On a more individual level, our relations to our oddkins are often our most meaningful relations even though we rarely think of them as such, filtered through a human-centric perception. In the performances and talks we hope to hear how the artists' practices are shaped by these relations and vice versa. Human artists and audiences are welcome.
