OSHO Nadabrahma is a gentle, humming meditation that brings the body and mind into deep harmony. Through humming and slow, mindful hand movements, inner conflicts begin to dissolve and a natural alignment is created within. As this harmony deepens, you gradually move beyond body and mind and slip into the role of a witness—observing from the outside. It is this witnessing that gives rise to peace, silence, and a subtle sense of bliss. The meditation is practiced with the original OSHO Nadabrahma Meditation music, which clearly marks and energetically supports each stage.

What to Expect

Duration: 1 hour

Structure: 3 stages

Eyes remain closed throughout

The meditation concludes with three gong beats.

The Three Stages

Stage 1 – Humming (30 minutes)

Sit comfortably with eyes closed and lips gently together. Begin humming, loud enough to be heard by others, allowing the sound to create a vibration throughout the body. You may imagine yourself as a hollow vessel filled only with this vibration. Gradually, the humming begins to happen on its own and you shift from doing to listening. There is no specific breathing pattern. You may gently change pitch or allow slow, natural body movements if they arise.

Stage 2 – Hand Movements (15 minutes)

This stage is divided into two equal parts of 7½ minutes each.

First half: Move the hands with palms facing up in slow, outward circular motions. Beginning at the navel, the hands move forward and then open out to the sides, forming two large mirrored circles. Feel as if you are offering energy outward to the universe.

Second half: When the music changes, turn the palms downward and reverse the direction. The hands now move inward toward the navel and then outward again. Feel as though you are receiving energy inwards.

The movements are extremely slow—sometimes appearing almost still. Allow gentle, spontaneous movements of the body if they occur.

Stage 3 – Sitting in Stillness (15 minutes)

Stop all movement and simply sit quietly, relaxed and alert, resting in silence.

A Reminder from Osho

“In Nadabrahma, let the body and mind be totally together, but remember to become a witness. Move out of them slowly and effortlessly—without struggle, without conflict.”
