Participants will learn how to incorporate teacher guided creative play and student choice to teach musical concepts. As teachers, we know that student engagement increases when they are able to take ownership of how and what they are learning. How do we continue to provide guidance and allow students to explore and find discovery in what they are learning? One way is to incorporate student choice as much as possible. Another way is to allow students to give input and have a chance to contribute to whatever we are working on in music class. In this session, participants will learn how to provide meaningful opportunities for choice and voice for their students.
