ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr Maria Drousiotou is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based in Nicosia and a member of the Pantheo Eye Center team. She earned her medical degree from Budapest University, completed her specialist training in Ophthalmology at the Red Cross Hospital in Greece, and went on to complete fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
She has been part of Pantheo Eye Center since 2003 and has a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Drousiotou is actively involved in volunteer initiatives and recently participated in a medical mission to Kenya.
BRIEF SUMMARY
Dr Drousiotou will share her experience from a humanitarian mission in Kenya, where she provided essential eye care to children in underserved communities, including vision screening and treatment support for vulnerable groups. Her talk will highlight the importance of accessible ophthalmic care and the role of medical professionals in addressing global health inequalities.
